WHO IS MUSTAFA RAHMI BÜYÜKBALLI?
The late Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı, a businessman from Gazipaşa, whose name was given to our Vocational School, was born on April 22, 1950 in the Güney Village of Gazipaşa district of Antalya. After completing his primary and secondary education here, he continued his education at Adana Regional Agricultural School. He graduated from here as an agricultural technician.
After serving for 5 years in Antalya Agricultural Protection Directorate between 1970-1975, he left this job and started his agricultural pesticides dealership in Gazipaşa. He established Altıntar Ltd Şti for the wholesale marketing of plant nutrients in Antalya.
In order to modernize agriculture in our country, which is developing and modernizing in all aspects, and to respond to the Turkish farmers who are in search of new, high quality products, Büyükballı has started to import quality and latest developed products of world-renowned companies since 1995. In order to spread these products all over Turkey, regional directorates were established. However, on May 7, 1999, he died as a result of a tragic traffic accident in the Ulaş Camp area between Antalya and Alanya.
Mustafa Rahmi Bey was a businessman who always made it a principle to be helpful to those engaged in agriculture and at the same time established a throne in the hearts of people with his charismatic personality. At the same time, the benefits that Rahmi Bey provided to Turkish agriculture cannot be underestimated. He has spread the drip irrigation system all over Turkey. He brought the seedling viols to Turkey.
Rahmi Bey has been working to spread all the tools that allow the pesticide and fertilizer to mix better with the soil, together with agricultural machinery, throughout Antalya. After his death, his business partner Ali BAL continues the modernization process in Turkish agriculture that he started.
